Kiwi Farm Equestrian

Situated off the main State Highway 12, just 2˝kms from the Brynderwyn Corner on State Highway 1, Kiwi Farm is easily accessible from Auckland and Northland. The farm was bought in late 2008 and the owners, Sue and Mike Shelswell have spent their first 14 months of owning the property developing their 45 acre block into the start of an equestrian training centre.

Just completed is a 42m x 65m sand and rubber all weather arena, with the view of extending the size to a final 65m x 65m training and competition size facility.
The arena is available for hire for dressage and show jumping as well as for lessons, clinics and in future, competitions. Available for use/hire is a full set of plastic show jumps, comprising 30 pairs of wings/stands, fillers, gates, walls,' skinnies', arrowhead, 'corner' unit, blocks, 'block wings' and a full complement of coloured and white poles.

Dressage coaching with Kim Voss is possible at the venue, (please contact Kim directly on 09 431 8819 or 021 023 777) and jump coaching with Marj Steiner (Head Coach Hakaru Pony Club). Based at Kiwi Farm is KJ Hannington-Fry from the UK and she offers her considerable experience for lessons, schooling, starting and producing horses and ponies and helping riders and owners to overcome problems the may have with their horses..

Kiwi Farm hopes to start building a cross country course in 2010, designed for training and practise – fences will range from beginner level to Novice and Intermediate fences when our project gets under way. Kiwi Farm is being developed to provide a year round facility offering everything riders need to help them improve, learn and practise.
